LIVING ARTS LAB –Living Arts of Tulsa has moved its galleries, performance space, education programs and offices to the Brady location which is now called simply Living ArtSpace. We now are very proud to be offering 6 new studio spaces as an expansion of the 3 existing studios to artists at reasonable rates.
THE FORUM FOR NEW WORKS – Statement of Purpose:
The Gallery space on Kenosha has been turned into a “research and development” area for artist who wish to incorporate cross-disciplinary methods. In keeping with the Mission of Living Arts of Tulsa “to develop and present contemporary art forms in Tulsa, Ok”, The Forum for New Works Program will give opportunities to artists of all kinds to do research and develop new forms of art. Initially the LAB (formerly the Myers Gallery at Living ArtSpace on Kenosha) will only provide artists with space and time to explore cross-disciplinary or collaboration – type works for 3 weeks. Artists wishing to collaborate with other artists should send in a proposal to Living Arts for review.
PROPOSALS SHOULD INCLUDE:
- WHO WILL BE THE CONTACT PERSON FOR THE GROUP?
- A LIST & CONTACT INFORMATION OF ALL ARTISTS WORKING IN THE SPACE AND MEDIA REPRESENTED
- A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THE PROJECT IS THAT THE GROUP WILL BE WORKING ON.
- WHAT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES THE GROUP WILL BE WORKING WITH
- THE BEST TIME PERIOD FOR YOU TO WORK FOR A 3 WEEK PERIOD OF TIME
If accepted, the artist group will have a 3 week period of time that the group can use the LAB to develop a new work or body of work. If the work at the end of the 3 weeks is developed fully, Living Arts would then have the first opportunity to present it at our Brady Street location or another location.
